Wetherby racecourse is situated in West Yorkshire offering Flat and National Hunt racing but most popularly for jump races. There are 6 feature races throughout the horse racing calendar with the Charlie Hall Chase and the Castleford Chase being the 2 most popular in the season. Some of the most notable horses in the world have raced at Wetherby making for some very interesting races every meeting. Our biggest win so far was one of our Wetherby horse racing tips winning at 50/1. There has been a lot of investment over the years and the facilities are of a very high standard. The grandstand makes perfect views across the course and the track is always in excellent condition. The first flat race meeting was back in 2015 to which Wetherby are still offering today. The flat course is over a mile and half well suited for galloping horses and is very fair to all horses. The oval course is similar to York and quite often form can be repeated on both courses alike.
The track races in a left handed direction and the same course is used for flat and National Hunt racing. Getting an early start and a good position on the inside rail early on seems key to success with the sharp bends that can catch some riders out in the back of the field. The jumps course features 9 fences which aren’t so easy making a good jumper who can keep the pace the best chance of winning.
Harry Skelton and Tom Scudamore do very well here and we often have them racing in our Wetherby horse racing tips. Skelton is currently the top jockey this season with a nice 35% strike rate under his belt. Trainers to look out for at Wetherby are Dan Skelton and M Walford both with success this season and more to come throughout the year.
