Kelso Racecourse is a National Hunt, left handed course in Scotland often known as the UK’s friendliest racecourse. The course has received the Best Small Course for 3 years in Scotland and the North of England. Kelso is popular through the winter months and can be a tough ride with an uphill struggle on the 2 furlong run in.

There are 2 courses which run very heavy through the winter months which can make a challenging ride. Chase and hurdle races are both ran at Kelso and it’s advised to back horses with previous form of stamina. The uphill run in takes it out of the horses which makes a tough finish and often very slow.

There are 3 feature races that happen every year at Kelso. The Morebattle Hurdle is a 2 mile 2 furlong race in February. In the same month is the Grade 2 race the Premier Kelso Hurdle over the same distance. In late February, early March is the 2 mile 7 furlong listed race, the Premier Kelso Chase is a very popular meeting with racing goers.
